Item Description
Blixite is a rare lead oxy chloride and specimens are rare from any worldwide locality. The famed Langban Mine is the Type Locality. Grayish-green crusts in a fissure vein richly covers one face of the rich manganese ore. RARE and RARELY on the market. Ex Stig Adlofsson Collection, who collected this piece and wrote about the Bolivia stope find in the July-August 1979 Mineralogical Record issue, V. 10, # 4, pp. 215-217. This is a provenanced specimen of an ultra-rarity from one of the few collections validated enough to matter in the field of Langban. Value ? ? ? hard to say! these do not turn up often!
