Bladed Cavansite & Stilbite (superb miniature)

An adorable and rare cavansite and stilbite miniature from the Wagholi Quarry. Two beautiful clusters of lustrous, neon-blue cavansite blades are dramatically set on a thin basalt matrix crust. The matrix, including the striking appendage and the large cavansite cluster are very attractively sprinkled with lustrous, stilbite blades. The cavansite clusters have a further dusting of micro-stilbites. This is a fine miniature for its own aesthetics and for the crystalography shown: Bladed cavansite of this variety is far less-common, than the cavansite balls. These are, also, fairly large blades. About 1 in 1000 cavansites might have this more rare form showing textbook crystallography, as opposed to the radial spherical clusters you normally see. Undamaged, aesthetic miniatures like this with such large crystals of this habit are uncommon and I have a standing order to buy any from one of my major sources there.
