Item Description
Black Opal is arguably the most popular Opal variety, and by far the most valuable. Australia is obviously the prolific producer of Opals in the world, especially the famous locality of Lightning Ridge, where the finest examples of Black Opals are found. This oval cabochon cut stone features beautiful patches of electric red, orange, yellow, gold, green, purple and blue Opal which are sitting against a black-grey background. The vibrant color of the Opal against the background makes for a lovely gem, which would do well in a pendant or loose as a great addition to your gem collection. This stone is a SOLID Opal, and not a doublet or a triplet, which makes it more valuable and worthwhile for a collector. Priced at $801.50 retail.
