Item Description
Top quality Black Opals are some of the most valuable gems in the world. The best examples are those from Lightning Ridge, Australia, but a recent find in Indonesia has produced some wonderful examples. This is a very good, and rarely seen solid multi-color Black Opal from this contemporary find. These gems only recently showed up on the market, and they some of the more attractive new Opals that we've seen from anywhere. This a solid gem, not a doublet or a triplet, which means it's more valuable since it didn't require additional material / aid for the color to shine through. It has an "Oval Cabochon" cut and features beautiful patches of electric red, orange, gold, yellow, green and blue when rotated under a strong light. The vibrant color of the Opal against the background makes for a lovely gem, which would do well in a pendant or loose as a great addition to your gem collection.
