Item Description
Botryoidal fluorapatite is rare worldwide and is extremely rare from Panasqueira. This perhaps unique combination is from the collection Steve Smale. Lustrous, partially translucent, tan hemispheres are flanked by tiny, light purple to white, fluorites. The balls are peppered with tiny sparkly pyrite cubes, which undoubtably sequester fluorescence. Looking at the contacted chatoyant side of the large ball reminds of the acicular radial growth of Arkansas wavellite botryoids. Bizarre and facinating combination material! Value of such a unique oddity from this renowned locale with a fine provenance???
