Item Description

A classic specimen of Bixbyite with Topaz from Utah. A fine, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, 7 mm crystal of black Bixbyite is aesthetically perched atop prismatic, soft beige colored Topaz for form a nice thumbnail display specimen of this rare material from this classic locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12599). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
