Item Description
Classic and excellent matrix Bixbyite, an uncommon Mn-oxide, from the famous Thomas Range in Utah. A splendent, sharp, jet-black, 9 mm, cube with typical jagged edges is beautifully set on the contrasting, blocky rhyolite matrix. Aside from rare Red Beryl and fine Topaz crystals, this is the most desirable species from the Range. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145 for free. Ex Doug Wallace Collection and collected in 1977 with Bill and Elizabeth Moller. An outstanding matrix bixbyite from the locale.
