Bismuthinite (old - rare) Philadelphia Academy

Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are RARE from this old Philadephia locale and bismuthinite pieces are extremely rare! This massive ore specimen consists mainly of metallic-gray bismuthinite with some quartz. Scattered vugs show laminated clusters of crude bismuthinite crystals. Certainly not good to look at, but it is an old, rich and rare example of the species from an extinct urban locale. Ex Philadelphia Academy of Sciences Collection.
