Item Description
A good quality and rather showy specimen of crystallized Bismuthinite from the Tasna Mine. This locality is actually the largest single bismuth deposit in the world, and is one of only two localities that have produced bismuth from a bismuth ore. This specimen features fairly large, sharp, LUSTROUS, metallic, bright silvery color orthorhombic blades creating a very nice "spray". The piece has a partial oxidized coating, but some of the exposed crystals have bright luster and good crystallization. This is one of the best examples of Bismuthinite that I have seen from Tasna, and it is certainly worth picking up for anybody who collect sulfides or sulfosalts. Valued at $1200.
