Item Description
This is just a really really good example of these syntehtic, lab-created bismuth growths showing the shape of bismuth crystals when allowed to grow in a centrifuge in a lab environment. It is synthetic, but beautiful. And, it is a particularly good one. Jack kept a row of beautiful synthetic and manmade mineral specimens on a top shelf in his mineral room, because he found them beautiful in their own regard, and also educational. From the collection of Jack Halpern of San Francisco, as featured in the Mineralogical Record, March 2005.
