Item Description

What a cool pseudomorph from the famous Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire. These particular specimens are fairly rare in my experience. Dark brownish-black Birnesite has completely replaced primsatic Serandite crystals and are associated with white to gemmy/colorless Natrolite crystals. If you collect MSH, think of how rare it is to find an example of this unusual material on the market. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371 Do not miss out on this one, I'm told that collecting at the quarry is now forbidden by new ownership, so specimens will be nearly impossible to obtain unless they come from old collections.
