Bipyramidal wulfenite specimens were VERY RARE from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos in 1961, when famous collector, mineralogist, author, bibliophile, bookseller, lapidarist and gemologist John Sinkankas purchased this piece. They remain rare from here to this day. Sharp, lustrous, translucent, burnt-orange crystals, to 1.3 cm, are very attractively clustered on the sawed matrix covered with white calcite and microcrystalline descloizite. John died in 2002. The piece has John's unique label on the side and comes with his signed 12.7 x 7.6 cm label card. Value of this fine and rare old-timer with a super provenance??
