Item Description
A beautiful and eye-catching display piece of this classic association from one of the most well known mining districts in England. A few very sharp and lustrous, gemmy to translucent, very slightly smoky color Quartz crystals with the well-known doubly-terminated bi-pyramidal habit are the sitting atop bubbly mounds of metallic silvery Hematite (variety "Specularite") "rosettes". The largest Quartz crystal measures 1.2 cm. Hard to find on the market today, especially in such good condition with excellent displayability. Ex Kay Robertson Collection #C-460 with a label from noted mineral dealer Scott Williams. Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
