Biotite with Hyalite Opal

Lustrous, sharp hexagonal book of Biotite. The Biotite crystal is elongated along one axis, creating a book with four long sides and two short ones. This unusual habit is actually quite attractive, and goes well with the fine, 1.2 cm thickness. At its longest, the crystal is 4.8 cm across. The superb, pearly luster has an almost dendritic pattern reflecting from it. Very aesthetic, single crystal of Biotite from Erongo.
