Item Description
A large, well-formed, hexagonal biotite crystal accented with contrasting calcite from this well-known locale, famous for betafite crystals. The "top" is highly lustrous, while the sides are only moderately lustrous. The Robert Nowakowski Collection label says Phlogopite, but MINDAT does not list the species for the locale. More likely 'Biotite' (MINDAT). This is a very sharp and complete crystal for the locale.
