Item Description
The front of this artistic, well-formed, 5.3 x 5.0 cm biotite is composed of tantalizing, sharp, lustrous, intergrown, black-brown, pseudo-hexagonal "books". It resembles a radar array. The pearlescent biotite is dramatically perched on a contrasting, blocky matrix of layered, salmon-pink calcite. A smaller, sharp biotite book embedded in the side of the calcite adds character. A beautifully composed and uncommon biotite combination from this obscure locale in Namibia.
