Item Description
RARE and showy large combination material from this obscure and long extinct pegmatite mica mine in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. A sharp, pseudohexagonal, 5.2 cm, biotite plate is strikingly included in a large, water-clear, light brown muscovite plate. MINDAT lists biotite for the locale, but there are NO examples in the photo gallery for the Mitchell Creek Mine. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022). Rare, perhaps unique combination material from the locale. A must for the locality or species collector.
