Item Description
With crystals to nearly 4 cm shooting off every which way, this large specimen looks bigger in presence, even than in the photos. It is a very dramatic, appealing specimen with subtle color gradations from the tips down. Some of this style end up being almost a heliodor beryl, or goshenite, with blue tips. This one, however, is really blue on blue, but the contrast is if anything more pronounced. The Aquas nest on top of a matrix of spiky acicular schorl crystals, and rock matrix underneath. This is a major example of this style, and is well-trimmed and nearly pristine on the display face. From the well-known collections of Heini Soltau, of Namibia. At the Munich show, this was valued at 2200 euros, or about $3000, with the previous dealer. Hety at 733 grams, or about 2 pounds weight
