Item Description
An EXCELLENT and VERY SHOWY specimen FESTOONED with lustrous, BI-PYRAMIDAL, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals from a BRAND NEW find at the famous Mina Ojuela at Mapimi, Mexico. Crystals reach 1.7 cm and there are a few DOUBLY TERMINATED crystals scattered about, including the largest crystal, which is very well-placed. AMAZINGLY, there are few crystals are broken, as you can see! These were recently found and we got most of the lot, which we debuted at the 2008 Tucson Show! This is an EXCELLENT representation of this new find, not a cast-off, and we want to have our auction customers to have an opportunity to obtain a fine piece from the first major Mexican wulfenite find, since the San Francisco wulfies in the mid-90s. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein. This sturdy piece has excellent 3-dimensionality and is not just a flat plate. The less-common, green mimetite is also found on this piece.
