Item Description
Lustrous, BI-PYRAMIDAL, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals are richly scattered on this SHOWY specimen from a BRAND NEW find at the famous Mina Ojuela at Mapimi, Mexico. The concentration of crystals on the upper portion of this biggie is particularly noteworthy. This excellent piece includes several well-placed, DOUBLY TERMINATED crystals, including the two largest crystals on the piece, at 1.8 cm. For such a large piece, very few crystals are broken, as you can see! These were JUST found and we got most of the lot, which we debuted at the 2008 Tucson Show! This is an EXCELLENT representation of this new find, not a cast-off, and we want to have our auction customers to have an opportunity to obtain a fine piece from the first major Mexican wulfenite find, since the San Francisco wulfies in the mid-90s. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein. The specimen is not just a flat plate and has good 3-dimensionality.
