Item Description
A "gem" of a 2-piece deal of gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmalines from the famous Himalaya Mine. Both of the crystals have very gemmy, variably olive-green, lower sections followed by classic, pretty "Himalaya-pink" zones. Both crystals have gemmy, pretty teal-blue zone lies just below the lustrous, frosted terminations. The smaller crystal has an interesting notched contact on one side, but with no damage. They are complete all-around. The larger crystal has modest contacting on the sides, with very little real bruising and a bit of termination edge wear is noted. The sides of the smaller crystal are pristine and the chip out of the termination is noted. Both crystals have gem nodules at the base. These are classic, well-striated, polychrome beauties from this renowned locale and would make excellent cutter material. 103 grams total weight - 68 and 35 grams each. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections (definitely older pieces).
