Bi-colored Tourmalines (Larson Coll.)

Item Description

An adorable trio of gem to gemmy/translucent multi-hued tourmalines from the less well-known Tourmaline King Mine, near the renowned Tourmaline Queen Mine of Blue-cap Tourmaline fame. The trigonal prisms are lustrous and well-striated. The small gemmy/translucent crystal has a vibrant pink body with a teal-blue grading to gray termination. The middle crystal is pure gem with a gray-blue body and pretty pink termination. The tall gem crystal is light indicolite blue with an interesting light green section and a pastel grayish-pink termination. The pegmatite was discovered in 1903 and has been worked extensively and intermittently since then. See the MINDAT article on the mine at: https://www.mindat.org/loc-3563.html.
