Item Description
The Morro Redondo pegmatite was discovered in 1991 below 10 meters of colluvium, a real rarity among Minas Gerais pegmatites, as most of the rest had surface exposures or hints. The large pegmatite furnished tons of tourmaline and this is an excellent 3-piece deal of bi-colored crystals. All three crystals are terminated and have pretty grass-green gemmy terminations. The large parallel-growth crystal has pretty areas of pastel-pink and there are musovite books embedded at the base. The middle crystal is quite gemmy, with layers of green and pink. The small crystal has a pyramidal termination, an interesting notch on one side and is doubly terminated with lepidolites embedded on the sides. A showy, highly representative 3-piece tourmaline suite from this famous pegmatite. 27 grams total mass. All three are pristine.
