Bi-colored Tourmaline with Lepidolite (classic locale)

Sculptural and aesthetic small cabinet tourmaline and lepidolite combination from recent finds at the famous Golconda District of Minas Gerais. The impressive, well set vertical tourmaline is 6.7 cm tall and and the flat lying crystal is 3.3 cm long. Both crystals are watermelons with pink cores and indicolite blue rinds. The layered crystals are highly lustrous, well-striated, glassy and gemmy to translucent. The watermelon core of the large crystal goes up to the beautiful, gemmy, 3 mm, indicolite blue section below the below very dark purple to matte black luster pinacoidal termination. The tourmalines rest on two generations of lepidolite. Classic rich lilac, pearlescent, larger 1st-generation large lepidolite plates are mostly covered with tiny, sparkly cream colored 2nd-generation lepidolite crystals. Backlighting really reveals the gorgeous colors of the tourmaline crystals. The large prism is essentially pristine.
