Item Description
A striking, sculptural, bi-colored elbaite and quartz combination from the famous Pederneira Mine. Artistically intergrown, flattened tourmaline crystals are dramatically accented by tabular, water-clear, doubly terminated quartz crystals with sharp edges. The lustrous, striated, elbaites are gemmy to translucent and have beautiful indicolite blue and bottle-green bodies and purple terminations. All of the elbaites are doubly terminated, with the largest, at 6.7 cm, having an etched primary termination. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear to the quartz crystals and a small bruise to the basal tourmaline termination face (out-of-sight). The primary display view shows only the most trivial termination edge wear to the large quartz crystal. A most fascinating, aesthetic and excellent two-sided, combination piece. Valued at $1750-2000.
