Item Description

The mid-2000s finds of these highly unusual bi-colored Vietnam tourmalines caused quite a stir in the mineral world. This is a striking, tapered, parallel-growth cluster of a multitude of gemmy to translucent trigonal crystals. The lustrous, glassy crystals are a pinkish-tan with a beautiful narrow 2 mm cranberry-red to brown zone, just below the gem terminations. The embedded muscovite plates on one side are a fine accent. The broken base reveals the translucent violet to lavender core of the piece. A very fine and colorful 360-degree example from the limited find. Pristine. 54 grams mass. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! The glassiness and luster subdued the true colors in the photos.
