Item Description

Backlighting reveals the gorgeous layered multi-hued colors of this lustrous, translucent, well-striated, trigonal tourmaline crystal with a beautiful rich coral-pink pyramidal termination and frosted/etched prism faces. The backlighting reveals a yellow-green layer below the termination, followed by a pretty rich pink, gemmy/translucent zone with cranberry-red at the base. The little flange of pearlescent lilac lepidolite plates at the base is a nice touch. Complete all-around and pristine. A very fine small cabinet tourmaline from the recent finds at Malkhan. 71 grams mass. See the recent excellent lengthy Mineralogical Record article in May-June, 2019, Vol. 50, No. 3. valued $1250
