Item Description

An extremely fine, large, bi-colored tourmaline from the most famous tourmaline locality in Pakistan. This doubly terminated, pristine crystal features several color zones: the lower termination is a gemmy, pastel-pink followed by a pretty, gemmy, apple-green zone; the dark olive-green midsection; and the classic and beautiful, pyramidal, gemmy to translucent termination area is a glorious vivid pink, which reminds me of classic "Himalaya pink" tourmalines. The aesthetic cleavelandite cloak is a super accent. The prism, itself, is highly lustrous and well-striated. The only damage to this beauty is a few broken cleavelandite blades. This is a great display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These pieces, especially in this larger size, are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in today"s market and is from the famous mid-80s finds. Valued at $2500.
