Bi-colored Tourmaline (Univ. of Arizona)

Item Description

A pretty and distinctive, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The upper portion of the glassy, well-striated and flattened crystal is the classic Himalaya pink and one side of the pyramidal termination has the nifty cityscape look. The lower half is olive-green with some intermixed pink. Looking carefully, you note that the crystal is slightly bent at the sharp color change. Pristine. Ex University of Arizona Collection and older material from the 1960s or 70s from Davis Minerals of Tucson. 6 grams.
