A sharply terminated and deceptive 5.3 cm bi-colored tourmaline looks like a smokestack set against the glassy, gem terminated quartz crystal. The lustrous, matte termination on the trigonal crystal and 1.6 cm below is black schorl or super dark green opaque tourmaline. VERY DECEPTIVE, in that you can barely tell that the lower 3.7 cm of the lustrous, glassy, well-striated crystal is a beautiful gemmy grass-green, except when the crystal is strongly back lit! The broken base reveals a pink core to the tourmaline, adding pizzazz. The striking broad water-clear quartz is included-with and in contact with numerous smaller tourmalines, adding even more character. A striking, aesthetic and excellent tourmaline and quartz combination from the famous Pederniera Mine. Comes with a custom-made lucite base, valued at $125, for free.
