Item Description
An old-time, classic and showy bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The gem termination is a pretty apple-green with the classic, gemmy to translucent, "Himalaya pink" section following. The basal section is colorless gem and is nicely accented with cleavelandite blades. Complete all-around, this cutie has a just a bit of termination edge wear and contacting at the base has very little bruising. Comes with a very detailed label and the old styrofoam mount. Purchased from the Joy McFate Collection of Dublin, CA and was previously in the Al Torrey Collection of Pleasanton, who purchased the piece from the Plummer's, perhaps in 1969. Ex Bob Trimmingham Collection, deceased Professor at Stanford University. 25 grams.
