Item Description

RARE, unusual style, old-time style of gemmy tourmaline from the renowned Himalaya Mine. The very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated trigonal crystal has a striking outer sheath of gem rich lilac-pink tourmaline. The gemmy lower interior is a grayish-green with the upper 1.2 cm being nearly opaque dark green to nearly black tourmaline. You see right through the super glassy gem pink termination into the dark core. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, two sides are partially embedded with albite. This outstanding old-timer probably dates to the 1950 or 60s finds. Rare and choice tourmaline from the Chet Lemanski Collection. Mass is 46 grams.
