Item Description
An elegant combination specimen from the most famous tourmaline locality in Pakistan. The gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline is aesthetically cloaked in pearlescent, bladed cleavelandite crystals, with a bit of tinting. The lower portion of the tourmaline is gemmy to translucent, olive-green, followed by the beautiful, gem, bottle-green 3 mm section. Sharply above is the starkly contrasting very soft baby pink to nearly achroite termination zone. The well-striated prism faces and termination are highly lustrous. The gemminess is excellent and the sharp color zoning is breathtaking. This is an excellent display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. This fine miniature dates to the 1980s finds. A bit of periphery wear is noted to the cleavelandite blades, but is certainly not detracting. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, who brought most of these to market.
