Item Description
A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The classic, well-striated, crystal has the pleasing, translucent, vivid "Himalaya pink" body. The gem nodule base is hues of olive-green and the modified, frosted, pinacoidal termination has a very narrow green zone below. The backlit shots highlight the rich color saturations. There is one clean repair in the middle and one lower side is contacted, with very little actual bruising. A highly representative bi-colored Himalaya, that would make excellent cutter material. Older material that probably dates to the 1960s or 70s. 53 grams.
