Item Description

Deep sky-blue to lavender, juicy, waxy bubbly smithsonite botryoids cover the large impressive, sculptural, vuggy 3-dimensional multi-hued specimen from the closed El Refugio Mine. Old 1960s or 1970s vintage material. See the 2011 Mineralogical Record Mexico Special Issue VI, Vol. 42, No. 5. Mass is 1374 grams or 3.0 pounds. The noted contacting/periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction. Classic Mexico material with multiple display views. Valued at $2000-2500 for color and size.
