Bubbly, botryoidal, translucent, banded, pretty lilac and gray, juicy smithsonite composes this hollow knob on this classic specimen from the El Refugio Mine at Choix, Mexico. Older vintage material, as it comes with a Dr. Gary Hansen label, dating to the 1970s or early 80s. Excellent and classic material from this essentially mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Special Issue. Ex Gary Hansen, Consie Prince and Dave Stoudt Collections.
