Item Description
The famous pegmatites at Virgem da Lapa produced a striking recent find of tourmalines around Christmas, 2009. The body of these gemmy and lustrous prisms are a pleasing bottle-green with striking, contrasting, teal-blue zones. The lustrous, complex pyramidal terminations are opaque super dark green. Both crystals are accented with lepidolite crystals at their bases. Both are complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The contact on the end of the side car on the large crystal has very trivial bruising and the edge bruising is also barely noticeable. The small crystal is essentially pristine, with only barely noticeable termination bruising. A beautiful, highly representative tourmaline pair from the recent find. 12 grams total mass - 8 and 4 grams. Valued at $750-900.
