Item Description

The famous pegmatites at Virgem da Lapa produced a striking recent find of tourmalines around Christmas, 2009. The body of this gemmy and lustrous, flattened prism is a pleasing bottle-green with a striking, contrasting, teal-blue zone. The lustrous complex pyramidal termination is opaque super dark green. The glassy, striated prism faces are very lightly frosted. Sharp lepidolite crystals at the base are a very nifty accent. Complete all-around pristine. A beautiful, highly representative tourmaline from the recent find. 6 grams mass. Valued at $500.
