Item Description
A bright and lustrous parallel-growth tourmaline crystal cluster showing a wild color variety from old finds in Madagascar. The two, stunningly beautiful and gemmy side-by-side crystals have cranberry-red to white lower sections, limpid bluish-green bodies capped by sharp, gem, teal-blue terminations. The large crystal is a gorgeous, translucent, gemmy, cranberry-red. The large cranberry-red crystal is broken on top and contacted on the back, with no damage, per se. A fair portion of value here is in cutting rough, for which $1000 was paid for it at a St Marie show in the 1990s by the previous owner. Tourmaline specimens from this obscure pegmatite field are seldom on the market. Ex Pala International Company Collection. 52 grams. One of only two pieces we had from this fine collection, long on display
