Item Description
Tourmalines from the pegmatites of Alto Ligonha are RARE compared to the famous deposits of California, Brazil, Pakistan or Afghanistan. Most specimens came out during active mining from the 1920s to 1975, with some recent mining. This is a very cute gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored trigonal crystal from the old-time mining. The glassy, well-striated compound crystal has beautiful layers of green and golden-yellow below the lustrous, opaque, very dark purple or black termination. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only very trivial termination edge wear. An uncommon and beautiful classic. Mass is 14 grams.
