Item Description
The famous pegmatites at Virgem da Lapa produced a striking recent find of bi-colored tourmalines around Christmas, 2009. The body of this large, gemmy and lustrous, "pencil" prism is mostly a pleasing bottle-green with a small striking, contrasting, teal-blue zone near the base and scattered olive-green sections. The striking, lustrous, pyramidal termination is opaque super dark green. Complete all-around and pristine. Two tiny contacts on noted on a termination edge and a small contact lower on one side, but have no damage, per se. A beautiful, large and impressive, very fine tourmaline from the recent find. 30 grams mass. Valued at $2500.
