Item Description
A gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored, bent tourmaline crystal cluster from recent finds at the Pederneira Mine. The upper half of the well-striated crystal is incredibly limpid with beautiful teal-blue color. The lower section has more internal crazing, with just a slightly lighter shade of teal blue. The highly unusual, stepped, pinacoidal termination is pretty pink with a matte finish. Pink tourmaline is attached to one lower side of the crystal. The core at the base is pink, so this technically a watermelon toumaline. The natural bending from pocket forces really gives this striking piece character and it glows with teal-blue and pink glory under light. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a broken tip on the sidecar crystal half way up. The sidecar crystals at the base are pristine. 71 grams. Valued at $2500 and well worth it for color, gemminess and form. This is a an outstanding Pederneira crystal.
