This classic, older bi-colored gem beauty is from the famous Barra de Salinas pegmatites of Brazil and the Steve Smale Collection. The frosted, etched very dark green pyramidal is underlain by a rich gemmy, grass-green section. The striking limpid body is teal-green grading down to a very subtle teal-blue. This is technically a watermelon tourmaline, as the base has a pretty pink core. Pristine. 44.38 carats mass or nearly 9 grams. Valued at $700-800.
