Item Description

An unusually shaped and excellent, old-time Cruzeiro tourmaline from the Georg Elling Collection. The very glassy, well-striated trigonal crystal has a dramatic strongly fluted form on all three sides. The lower half of this bi-colored gem crystal is a beautiful teal-blue. The upper half is teal-green below the nifty frosted, yellow-green pyramidal termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The chipped tip of the small, lower side car and a small bit of lower edge wear are out-of-sight in the preferred display view. A classic, yet uncommonly shaped Cruzeiro dating to the 1960s or 70s. 38.93 carats or nearly 8 grams mass. The crystal looks dark green in normal light, but GLOWS with color and gemminess, when backlit!
