Item Description
A small, but extremely fine gem bi-colored tourmaline from the 1970s to early 1990s finds at the Otjua Mine. Gorgeous cranberry-red color with a striking complex pyramidal termination crowns the upper portion of the glassy limpid crystal. The cranberry mid-section has a few interior veils and is followed by the water-clear gray base with a thin surrounding cranberry rind. Most Otjua Mine elbaites are translucent to murky, making this an exceptional polychrome example. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bruise on one side, which is certainly only a modest detraction to this beautiful and rare tourmaline. 15.12 carats or just over 3 grams mass. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
