Bi-colored gem Fluorite (classic locale)

Beautiful blue, water-clear gem fluorite cubes with yellow interiors are densely and aesthetically festooned on both sides of this impressive large elongated two-sided rib from the famous La Barre Mine. The very glassy and lustrous cubes reach 1.7 cm. The sides are distinctively different! One side is dramatically accented by a well-placed large 3.8 cm fluorite octahedron covered with small gem blue fluorite cubes and scintillating blue and yellow druzy fluorite. The back side is totally covered with gemmy bi-colored fluorite cubes. I like the way the larger fluorite cubes are positioned at or near the crest of the piece. Purple LW UV fluorescence. This ancient fluorite mine operated from 1918 until 1948 and the adits were closed in 2000 (MINDAT). Ex Paul Zerfass Collection No. 90.
