Item Description

This obscure Virgem da Lapa area pegmatite produced a small lot of exceptional indicolite tourmalines around 2000. This is an exquisite, rare, bi-colored elbaite from the find. The terminations of this gem, sculptural, parallel-growth cluster are beautiful indicolite blue above a rich emerald-green body. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a couple of trivial spots of side wear. The high luster, striations and quartz druse adds much character. Rare and very fine elbaite from this locale from the P.A. Matioli Collection. 12 grams mass. Valued at $1500-1750 for color, quality and rarity.
