A dramatically sculptural bi-colored fluorite on sphalerite combination from a 2007 find at the Gibraltar Mine at famed Naica. Colorless gem cuboctahedrons with some mint-green rest atop beautiful gem mint-green cuboctahedrons on the bit of sphalerite matrix. An impressive large 5.1 x 4.4 x 3.0 cm mostly colorless cuboctahedron dominates the piece and is fantastically accented by the stunning adjacent cluster of stepped-growth bi-colored cuboctahedrons. All of the fluorites are water-clear gem. Strikingly, all of the cube prism faces are water-clear and you can view into crystals like a TV screen. The surrounding modifying edge faces to the cuboctohedra have satin lustre, adding a striking surreal visual aspect to this very fine classic matrix fluorite. Interestingly, the green fluorite fluoresces purple, while the color fluorite does not fluoresce.
