Item Description
Showy and colorful old-time bi-colored fluorite from the Cave-in-Rock area of Hardin County. The aesthetically intergrown translucent to transparent cubes, to 5.8 cm, are predominately a rich amber contrasted with striking areas of variable blush-purple. The dense stepped-growth of the bright very waxy lustre faces really accentuates and highlights the piece. The piece has a beautiful warm glow, when back lit. Hydrocarbon inclusions cause the pastel-yellow fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2001. According to Chet's catalogue, this very fine old-timer dates prior to 1965 when it was received as a gift from a former collector, Dr. Eugene Sensel.
