Item Description

Wonderful and colorful large combination of lustrous, multi-hued fluorite cubes preferentially peppered with brassy chalcopyrite crystals from this old mine. Rich golden-amber color highlights the gemmy edges of the cubes. The striking large cube is 4.7 cm on edge. Contrasting lavender fluorite preferentially covers the faces of the frosted cube interior faces. The edge view shows the purple fluorite vein between the golden-amber layers. The golden-amber fluorite GLOWS, when backlit. This famous old silver and cobalt mine, worked intermittently from the 1700s until after World War II for uranium (MINDAT). Purple fluorescence. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. An outstanding large combination from the historic mine. These gold-amber cubes with chalcopyrite are a signature varietal from the mine. Rare material from the important German suite of the Hefendehl collection!
